Life Is Like an Elevator, You Lose People When You Go Up

Life’s got buttons, doors, and floors,
A lobby full of “let’s be friends”
Until you start climbing—
Then the weight limit kicks in.

At ground level, it’s all laughs and cheers,
Everyone piling in, no space for fears.
But press that button—success, next stop—
And suddenly, some folks gotta hop.

Ding! First floor—here go the ones
Who liked you better when you had none.
They clap for you ‘til you rise too high,
Now their hands are in their pockets—my, oh my.

Not everyone is meant for the penthouse view,
Some were only here for the free ride with you.

Second floor—there goes the crowd
That loved your dreams… just not out loud.
They cheered when they thought you’d stay the same,
Now they call you “different” like it’s a shame.

Third floor—watch them fade,
The ones who swore they’d never trade.
Turns out loyalty has a price,
And yours? It’s looking way too nice.

But keep rising, don’t press hold,
This ride ain’t made for the lukewarm or cold.

Let the doors shut, let them go,
Some can’t breathe where the air gets low.

Because at the top, it’s quiet, it’s few,
But the view? Man, what a view.
